 SOP FOR CLEANING AND DISINFECTION 

1.0. Purpose 

The motivation behind this SOP is to depict a normal cleaning and sanitization system to guarantee great housekeeping of Microbiological Laboratory. 

2.0. Scope 

This SOP is appropriate to Microbiological Laboratory at         (Pvt.) Limited. 

3.0. Responsibilities

4.0. Frequency 

House keeping and logging of exercises is done on daily schedule in Microbiology Laboratory. 

5.0. Procedure 

5.1. Title of Procedure 

5.1.1 House manager plays out the housekeeping exercises of all the Microbiology lab on regular schedule that incorporate 

a) Removal of the refuse gathered from various waste canisters. 

b) Removal of waste from territory. 

c) Cleaning/tidying of tables, seats, pantries, windows, gear. 

d) Sweeping/wiping of floor with newly arranged disinfectant arrangement. 

e) Dedicated mop, wiper and can to be cleaned and sanitized with sterilizing arrangement after fulfillment of floor wiping. These should be put away independently. 

f) Discarding of media after autoclave. House Keeper and Lab Attendant.

5.1.2 Drawers to be kept perfect and orchestrated. They will be checked intermittently for things to be disposed of. 

5.1.3 Refrigerator is kept an eye on month to month reason for cleaning and all terminated materials will be disposed of. 

5.1.4 Logbooks is masterminded appropriately and be stayed up with the latest. Documents, notices, registers, papers and so on should be returned to their particular places. Microbiologist 

5.1.5 Old record is moved to assigned zone. 

5.1.6 Air-condition unit is checked for upkeep by the Engineering dept. somewhere around at regular intervals or as needed. AC Department 

5.1.7 Tube lights are checked by territory staff and educated the Engineering division as needed. Electric Department 

5.1.8 Arranging of papers and records kept on tables subsequent to finishing the work. Microbiologist 

5.1.9 Prior to testing, all the testing surfaces/Laminar are sanitized with 70% isopropyl alcohol. Microbiologist 

5.1.10 Disinfection of dividers, floor and laminar stream hood of sterility suit is completed preceding and after sterility testing.

5.1.11 Over night fumigation of the sterility suit is completed after sterility test on day by day basis. 5.1.12 After culmination of testing, all surfaces/Laminar are purified with 70% isopropyl liquor. Materials/gear are moved to assigned spot and squanders are moved for removal. Microbiologist 

5.1.13 After culmination of testing quickly move all the material which require cleaning and washing to the sink. Surfaces (Tables and Laminar) are cleaned with 70% isopropyl liquor and furthermore territory by splashing with disinfectants. Microbiologist
